Ryan's doing great!
Ryan seems to feeling really good - slept a good bit today, got up and ate a little - kept asking for chocolate and I finally gave in - must be his miracle drug :)! No complaints of pain so far - we are sitting around in the dark, no tv, etc. because everything is too bright he say's - that has been his only complaint. He and Addie have been dancing around to that song "Kung Fu Fighting" or whatever it's called - being silly, silly. So thankful and praise God that he is feeling so good! His eye is really swollen so it we can't really see how it looks at this point - Dr. Estes is hopeful, but says it is still a wait and see - and PRAY that the eye is where we need it to be. He says Ryan is a one of a kind and that his strabismus is different than your typical strabismus issues. Seems like every nurse we saw today remembered taking care of us at some point - yep, that's how you know you've been to surgery one to many times!! The anesthesia guy looked about 19 - a friend said I should card him and I might just have done that had I thought of it - as he was going through the drill - all I could think about was how many cases had he done. Thanks so much for your prayers for our little man!
I was heartbroken last night to learn that sweet Joseph is now with Jesus - we know he's in his forever HOME and we celebrate that he is cancer free, pain free, he is ALIVE - but oh what pain and heartache for his family. They were supposed to be having his birthday party this w/end - instead they are planning his funeral - I don't even pretend to understand. Please keep his family in your prayers.
I also have another sweet boy that is need of prayer - Aiden - he is having a really rough time - he's been fighting since he took his first breath and is now a big 6 year old and still fighting - amazing family. I started reading two sights before Ryan was ever diagnosed- Aiden (www.caringbridge.org/fl/aiden) and Haley's sight - two amazing women and two amazing children, I would read their stories and sit and think "please God, if life ever comes at me the way it comes at these two families - I pray I can walk it out like they do" - now I know God was preparing me through them. I never come away from reading what they write without hearing from Him.
Again - thanks for you continued love and prayers for our boy and our family!!

Praying Ryan's eye will heal quickly and show successful results. I will be also praying on Sept. 2nd for MORE clear scans!!! I too came away from Cheryl's funeral feeling spiritually renewed and you too amaze me at your strength and the way God uses you to witness to others. Thank you for your willingness to share.
