Rough couple of days for our little guy ....

We would greatly appreciate your prayers for our little guy right now. He has had a tough few days since we have gotten home from the hospital - no energy at all and just generally feels terrible I think. He snuggled up to me the other night and said, "Mommy - I just didn't know I would feel this bad." Shatters my heart ..... He did eat fairly well yesterday and I thought we were making the turn - then last night his tummy started hurting and he made frequent trips to the bathroom throughout the night - not the way to hang on to those calories. he also has a "bark" like cough ..... Please pray that his upset tummy gets better and he soon starts feeling better. He goes to clinic tomorrow for some chemo, blood counts, and weight.

Yesterday God gave me a good visual reminder of His love for us .... Ryan wanted a bagel - so off we went to Panera (if he mentions it - we go get it!). There is a little lake/pond by Panera - we saw a momma duck and her ducklings - it was pretty chilly, so she gathered them all up underneath her and covered them with her wings - so sweet. The Holy Spirit reminded me - that is exactly where Ryan is - he is in the shadow of the Almighty's wings - he is sheltered there - we all can be sheltered if we choose to take refuge there. That doesn't mean difficult days won't come - boy, how I wish that was the case for my Ryan - for all of us for that matter. But, I have to hold on to what I know to be truth - that even in the difficult days - His promises still remain. It's not always easy ... but I'm thankful that He gave me that visual yesterday to hold on to. It was a sweet time with Ryan as he thought they were really cute - a funny thing though - I decided to make it a teachable moment - I started talking to him about how God covers us with his wings - how he protects us and shelters us like that momma duck was doing for her babies .... I finally gave up after he kept trying to understand how God had wings ...... I really dropped the ball on that one - but it did give me a good laugh as I could see those little wheels turning and him trying to picture God with wings. With Ryan, that won't be the end of it - he will ponder it, and days from now I'll be getting more questions - questions that I will have no clue how to answer :).

"I call on you, O God, for you will
answer me;
give ear to me and hear my prayer.

Show the wonder of your great love,
you who save by your right hand
those who take refuge in you
from their foes.

Keep Ryan as the apple of your
eye;
hide him in the shadow of your
wings ....... "

Psalm 17:6-8
