Halloween
(Addie and Ryan)(Addie and Ryan with our friends Jude and Cal - Ann and Mark - thanks for letting us come over and have a "normal" night (whatever that is!!)!! - you have no idea what a gift that was.)

Just a quick note to say that Ryan got out of the hospital Tuesday and was home to go trick or treating. Addie was thrilled to be Snow White and Ryan was a dinosaur. They had a great time. His counts are still down so we still can't get him out in public, although for trick or treating it seemed better to ask forgiveness after the fact than permission before. Sometimes he just needs to be allowed to be a kid and have fun even if the conventional wisdom says to keep him safely tucked away so that he won't catch something and get sick. He really liked getting out and getting candy.

That's great to hear that Ryan was able to trick or treat. Last night Carter thought it would be a good idea to share his candy with Ryan because he probably couldn't go out. I thought that was really sweet but I knew in my heart - where there's a will...there's a way - and Ryan was probably going to have plenty of candy. I'm glad he earned it himself by being a dinosaur. It's more fun that way. You are always in our hearts and prayers.
Ryan has been through so much in his young little life, he is a dinosaur of courage in real life.
Bless his sweet little heart. I'm sure anything that brings a smile to his darling face makes your heart dance. May God continue to give you peace and strength. Please know we remain in prayer for you.

As a fellow cancer patient, I am so touched by Ryan's journey. It is when I see a young child suffering and enduring all the chemo and radiation that I had to as well, is when I am brought to tears as I realize life is not always fair. The best thing that we all can do is make the most and get the most out of what God has given us. I pray that God protect and provide your entire family with what you need to stay strong. May God Bless You All! Rita Oruska
