MRI coming up

Ryan will have his MRI on Thursday 8/16 at 4:00 pm. This could be a long day for him since he can't eat after 9:00 am - so pray he will eat a good breakfast and then be okay the rest of the day - he can have clear liquids until 2:00 so that should help. Please pray for clear scans! As hard as we try not too - you just do have some anxiety with these MRI's.

Ryan seems to be feeling really good even though his counts should be dropping - they will check them again on Thursday. At clinic last week - they noticed that his mouth and lips were very red and swollen and said he might be starting to get mouth sores - they put him on 2 mouthwashes that he has to "swish and spit" 4 times a day for the next 2 weeks. They taste nasty according to Ryan and it takes forever for him to get up the nerve to get the rinses in his mouth - it is not a good experience for him at all. He does it though - you just have to let it be on his timetable. Please pray that the mouthwash works and his mouth begins to heal AND that the ordeal will become easier for him. As a friend of mine said - God can change water into wine, He can make these mouthwashes as sweet as strawberries :). So thankful to have friends that can pray for us like that when I am exhausted and tired of watching Ryan have to deal with all of this - seems that I can watch him have the needle placed in his port, watch the chemo drip into his little body - but then things like this just make me so angry at that stupid cancer and how it is making his little life so hard!!

Addie starts school tomorrow - she is a big 2nd grader! She seems okay - pray for her as I know this will be an adjustment. She was with Ms. Anderson for the past 2 years - I know they will miss each other. Her new teacher is Mrs. Kunce - people have nothing but wonderful things to say about her - the best part is that she loves Jesus and I know she will help Addie to continue to grow. Addie is going to be on the praise team for Little Tree House (children's church) - she is very excited to be on stage and to use a microphone(i'm not really sure they get a microphone) - ha! She thought it was supposed to happen today - I didn't understand what in the world she was talking about - thankfully I had some help from other people who figured out what she wanted - she was so frustrated with me. Speaking of music - if you need some new tunes - Mandisa's new CD, True Beauty is really good. Addie's top picks are: Only The World, and Unrestrained. The girl does know her music and if it ain't about Jesus - she doesn't have much use for listening to it. What I really love is when she's in her room just praising away - Ryan walks in to see what she's up to and she tackles him and screams at him to get out - I've told her that praising Jesus and being mean to your brother at the same time just isn't a good thing - haven't seemed to get through to her yet.
