They're off ....

Rob and Ryan just left for the hospital. Rob is taking Ryan today for clinic and staying tonight - I usually do Thursdays and stay the first night, but Rob is giving me a break. I thought it would be good, but watching them drive off was harder than I had thought. Oh how I wish they were just heading out for a Daddy/Ryan day! If I haven't said it before - I'm saying it now - your baby having a brain tumor just stinks! Rob will make it a great time for him though - he always does - he is such a good Daddy and the best husband! Addie is watching Barney - first thing she asked for once they left - ha! I think she has figured out that she only gets to watch him when Ryan is not around - I think she will be watching Barney when she is 40 years old.

Ryan's hearing test didn't go so well yesterday - he is having it repeated this morning. Please pray in agreement with us that it will be perfectly fine today. I am asking and believing that we have already received this (Mark 11:24). Yesterday was a rough day for my brave little warrior - the first part of the test went well, but they couldn't get an accurate reading on the last part because of too much earwax (yuck!). A nurse practioner decided to try and get it out and that is when our good day started going bad - they papoosed him and he did not appreciate being strapped down (I didn't particularly appreciate it either) - he screamed the entire time - it was not good. I asked how often they dealt with children (not very often from what I saw :)). They tried to retest, but he was so upset that the audiologist (Lauren was great though - she was very compassionate towards Ryan and kept telling him she was sorry) is not sure that it is correct - she said that crying and being upset could be throwing it all off. If it is accurate then it does show some hearing loss with the high pitch tones - this is the area that the chemo would affect. She didn't go into detail since she wanted to repeat it this morning. I am trusting that a those little ears are being shielded by our Father's hand. I am feeling very much at peace about those little ears. We did end the day on a good note though - I took Addie and Ryan to Chuck E. Cheese - I thought that after all of that, he deserved some fun and Addie loves to go too. Granna was with us and they had a good time.

Well - gonna run have some Addie time - she wants to get the praise music going which is exactly what we need - a house filled with praise - we are loved by the King!

9AM -GREAT NEWS - Praise you Jesus - Rob just called already - Ryan's hearing was perfect this morning!! Once again - overwhelmed by His mercy ........

"As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect." 2 Samuel 22:31-33

Thank you as always for the updates on Ryan. We know that you are looking forward to being "over the hump" on the chemo. Tell Ryan that we think he is so brave. We are praying for complete healing for Ryan, encouragement and understanding for your marriage, and blessings for your family.

Ryan, you always amaze me when you have tests and chemo. You are just the bravest little guy I know. Your parents are the bravest and best parents you could have!! And that Addie is a great sister and loves you so much. We love you so much.

Glad to read about the good hearing test results!

I wanted to say, I get really sad when Scott "gets to" take Asher to the hospital instead of me. There are times when I just physically know I won't be able to handle it, so I need Scott to go. Emotionally it is more difficult to be the one at home, I think.

Anyway, just checking in on you all!

Take care!
