Back in the Saddle Again
Well, we are back in the hosital again. Ryan's counts were good but he was still running the fever so they admitted us anyways. He seems better today but we are going to be here for at least another day or two. Maybe by Friday night we can come home. I stayed with Ryan last night and Mary Lee came by this morning around 9 o'clock and relieved me so I could go on to work. Luckily I have great bosses who allow me to be flexible on a moments notice as far as my work schedule is concerned. Also the other detectives in my office have really taken the slack for me and have been assigned more cases to investigate while my case load has been lightened during all of this cancer business...Thanks ya'll. I came by after work and am letting Mary Lee get out of the room for a few hours. She'll be staying with Ryan tonight and I'm going home
I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot of Vandy over the next year. Ryan does well but I know he gets tired of not being able to just be a normal little boy and run around. His daddy gets tired of that as well. He told me last night, while driving to the E.R., that when he is grown he isn't going to go to the doctor all of the time like he does now. I would trade all I have if that could be guaraunteed! I think it is almost worse being the dad or mom of a sick child than it would be to be sick yourself.
On a great note, in semi-unrelated matters, my friend Ben's mom had a mastectomy yesterday and her surgery went very well and they don't think she'll need any chemo or radiation. He said he didn't think he was nervous about it until after she came out of surgery and suddenly he realized that he felt like a weight was lifted from him. I know the feeling...I'll rejoice more than ever when this year is over and Ryan's cancer has been beat into the ground.

I continue to keep you all in my prayers. I graduated nursing school with Mary Lee and then worked with her here at Cookeville. When we were first out of nursing school we got attached to a preemie we had here in the nursery, Ashley, in fact we filled her stocking from "Santa". Mary Lee has always bees such a giving person. I know Ryan, Addie, and you are blessed to have her. Feel free to contact me at dwcavin@frontiernet.net. God BLess you all and keep you safe.
I forgot to give me name: Wanda Cavin. Take care.
Dear Ryan--- Hang in there--- I am so glad your counts were good-- I am praying really hard that you get out tomorrow. I am proud of your courage. Give your Mom, Dad and Addie a big hug for me. Love, Ms. Pam
Hey Ryan! I know it's no fun being in the hospital but you will soon be home again. We are praying for you to have a speed recovery.
