So thankful ....

Hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have had a very good weekend and have truly been thankful just to be together with our family. We spent Thursday at Rob's parents' - my parents came too. Then we came to Cookeville (my parents) for the weekend. We have all enjoyed just being away from home. Wasn't the weather beautiful - Addie and Ryan had some good play time outside!

Ryan had his first "boost" dose of radiation on Friday - he did dry heave some after, but then that passed. We are praying that was just a one time incident and not what is to come with this change- please pray that will be the case. This is a higher dose of radiation directly to the part of his brain that the tumor was. He definitely has decreased energy and tires quickly. His hematocrit was 30 on Thursday - if that has dropped lower tomorrow, he will have to have a blood transfusion. I am ever so thankful for those of you who donate blood - it truly is the gift of life in so many situations! Ryan will have to have blood and blood products throughout this journey in order for him to continue with treatment - life saving for him. My Dad has donated regularly for as long as I can remember - thanks Dad! I am praying that his counts will be up tomorrow and he won't need the transfusion, but if he does - I am thankful that it will be available for him. Ryan's appetite is very poor - please pray that it will increase. He just says he
isn't hungry and getting just few bites into him is a struggle.

Hi Carrigan Family,
Even though we don't know each other I just wanted to let you know that our sons are in the same class at preschool at Long Hollow Baptist and our family as well as our 4 year old have been and will continue to pray for Ryan and all of you! You are a true inspiration and your testimony of faith is to be admired! May God continue to bless you and keep you!

Love,

Hey Gang,
Once a week I print out your blogs for the men in my program -- they are faithful to pray for your family every morning and are always anxious to get the updates. Thank you for keeping us posted on Ryan's progress and specific prayer needs. I love you guys! Rob, we're probably due for some McDougal's chicken and a rap session.

Rob and Mary Lee,
As our lives change, the things for which we are thankful change dramatically also. I am so glad that you had things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Being with your families was a tremendous gift and having Ryan and Addie with you all was the icing on the cake! From another Only Child, hang in there and know that you are surrounded with love.
