Port-a-cath in ...
Ryan had his port-a-cath placed today. He did just fine and he had no complications --God is good!! He has been awake ALL day and he is extremely grumpy :). I think the anesthesia does that to him. I always laugh when they tell you how they should sleep the rest of the day ... has anyone ever seen that happen with a child? I certainly have not experienced that. He is not wanting to move his left arm at all but I think it is more from anticipating the pain ... he says it does hurt a little and I am sure it is uncomfortable as they did make two incisions on the left side of his chest. They say he will get used to it and won't even realize it is there most of the time. He has told me fairly often today that he wants it out! Bless him .... he is a tough little guy and I am so blessed to be his Mommy. Thank you for being so faithful to pray for our family! Addie seems to still be doing well .... she is very happy to be out of school tomorrow. She is our sunshine girl.

I've been passing the blog along to people who are concerned about the Carrigan family. we have been praying for you all. I seem to always want to trap Rob in the hallway at work and ask him question. Maybe this blog will alow him to get some work done. We love you and pray for you.

Dear Rob, Mary Lee and Addie,
Great news that the cath insertion went well! Please know that you are all loved and that Ryan is constantly in my thoughts. The verse that has gone through my mind since I first heard about Ryan's illness is, "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people."

Mary Lee,
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as you're going through this challenging time right now. Joyce Misch has been very good about keeping all of us at Baptist updated with the latest news, but I'm glad you have this blog page now so I can continue to know your specific prayer requests. If you're ever needing someone to talk to in the middle of the night, you know you can always ring one of us "night owls" at the Big B:)

Please know that we at First Baptist Hendersonville, especially in Jackie's SS Class, are praying for all of you daily. May God hold you close and bless each of you daily. I pray that Ryan will feel and hear the Angel's wings around him each day!!
Carrigans,
I am a church friend of grandma and grandpa Carrigan when they went to Speedway Baptist. My husband and I and our church continue to lift up Ryan and the entire family. Never a week goes by in our Sunday School class without a Ryan update. You are all so brave. Now that God answers prayers and will keep you in his care. We pray fro you to all have the strength to get through all of this. It's comforting to know you have Christian doctors that have been blessed by God with such great skills. Keep the faith!
