Wonderful!!!
That's what nurse Julie said when she e-mailed the results of Ryan's MRI - definitely music to our ears - all clear!!! Ryan did great as always - we had IV therapy team come to start the IV and they got in the very first time!!! - last MRI it took 7 sticks so Ryan was extremely anxious about it this time. Ryan's stall tactic is that he has to go to the bathroom before the IV is started and then again when we move to the MRI room - those bathroom "moments" can be fairly gutwrenching as he cries and and begs us not to make him do this. He had lots more questions this time - "why do I have to do this every week", " why doesn't Addie have to do this?" - I guess to him it does feel like every week sometimes. Part of you heart aches - then the other part of you wants to just get it over with so you get frustrated with him for trying to avoid the inevitable. It is very different dealing with a 7 year old versus a 4 year old. At one point he told me he was going to move to Australia ------ remember that book - "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". I wish moving to Australia would make all of this go away for him ...........
We did see the endocronoligist yesterday - he is on the right amount of synthroid (medicine for thyroid that quit working because of radiation) , still not producing very much growth hormone. We will talk more about that when we see her again in 6 months. Everything else looked good.
Hearing test will be next week so please pray about that - my guess is that he has some more hearing loss - I find myself having to repeat everything unless I am looking right at him. I am praying that will not be the case though. It makes me sad to think about it ..........
Thanks for your prayers - we are grateful to Him for this good news! It was so good to hear from so many of you - your words bring so much comfort during these hard days.
Love you all!
