Make-A-Wish

We stayed at Give Kids the World .... and they do exactly that ..... what an amazing place!! Putt-putt golf, ice cream for breakfast, merry go-round rides after dinner, train rides, movie theatre ...... the list goes on!! It is Christmas every Thursday night - Santa and Mrs. Claus, toys for everyone, even a Christmas parade and they made snow at the end. We had a two bedroom condo - with washer and dryer - they had the fridge stocked, plenty of snacks - and each day while you were away, someone would leave presents on your kitchen table. Miss Mary tucked them in one night and they got into a pillow fight - so much fun!!! If you get a chance - check out their web site - if you have any extra money burning a whole in your pocket - this place is incredible .... each day they only have a handful of paid workers - everybody else you see are volunteers and are there simply because they want to be there - I believe I met some of the happiest people I have ever met in my life right here. Many of the volunteers are folks who have retired - they told us the highlight of their week was being with all of these families ...... I found myself fighting back the tears quite often as I was just so humbled and overwhelmed at how much these people loved on us ...... the story of Henri Landwirth, the founder of this, is so, so good. Ryan thought it was so cool because everything we did was FREE!! I found myself praying that God would just bless the socks of the people who had made this possible for our family - I know somewhere, somebody financially made this dream a reality!
