Round 2

Ryan will be admitted tomorrow for his 2nd round of chemo - they have said he will stay 2 - 3 nights. We continue to pray that every last cancer cell in his little body will be destroyed and that he is protected from all of the negative side effects. We pray in agreement with Ryan's little friend John David who prayed that we would beat Goliath and that he will never, ever come back!! (If you want the specifics for the side efffects - you can check back on the January 17th entry). He will have his hearing checked tomorrow also, as hearing loss is a common side effect from one of the drugs - he seems to be hearing just fine, but it is a little nervewrecking waiting to find out. Ryan knows he is going tomorrow and seems to just accept things for what they are - he is our very brave boy. I am so thankful that he does not have a spirit of fear about any of this - that is a true gift from God. Jackson Ashley will be admitted tomorrow too - so we are looking forward to spending some time with this family - a HUGE praise too - Jackson's MRI was CLEAR!!!! Praise Jesus!!

He has had a wonderful week once his counts came up - lots of energy. He has enjoyed a few trips to the grocery to buy strawberries (I think he has eaten his weight in those once he was given the all clear), been to the Disney store twice!!, went bowling with his special friend Tiffany, Chuck E. Cheese with his buddy John David - he has had lots of fun this past week. We are learning that you better enjoy it while the counts are up and he is feeling great!! He was very excited to get to go to church too - he was so cute the rest of the day singing the songs he had learned ... one went "I am somebody - because God loves me. His love is higher, it's deeper and wider than you and I will ever understand". How true that is - Miss Jeri Sue(and all of you Tree Hollow folks - you are making a difference :)! Miss Dawn and Mr. Keith, you are doing a great job too - Ryan was thrilled to tell me the Bible story! It has been good to see him feeling so great - a little sad knowing that all of that will change more than likely over the next few days. All in all, I think he has done extremely well after his first round and I pray that this second will be as good or even better. We have much to praise Him for throughout all of this!

Please keep Rob's mom in your prayers - she is having a rough time ... lots of back pain (she has had 4 previous surgeries). She also had a breast biopsy on Monday and will be finding out the results tomorrow - we pray it is absolutely nothing!

Hope you all have been enjoying this beautiful weather - I have to be honest, I was glad when I saw it is supposed to rain tomorrow - it will make being stuck in the hospital a little easier:).

Ryan & his Family,
It is Lindsey Forte from Station Camp High School who sent in the basket of gifts in and came to see you awhile back! Our project we had done with you is supposed to be turned in soon and I found my card with your website on it and it made me have a complete erge to look at it and to see how YOU were doing!!! It sounds like you are pretty good and I am sooo glad!!! You and your whole family are in my family and I's prayers every second of the day!!! I know that you are going to be ok no matter what anyone says as long as you just believe in yourself and God who is watching over you all the time!!! We need to set up a day for us to meet again and maybe go to McDonalds for a Happy Meal and Addie can come along with us too!! Well I hope you have a good night and a GREAT day tomorrow and a FANTASTIC rest of the week!!! Keep in touch!

Ryan, I have thought about you all day long. I can't wait to see you Friday to get a good hug. Your hugs just make me feel so good and happy. I wish I could sneak Sophie and Skipper into the hospital, but I know Sophie would get into trouble, wouldn't she? Papa and I love you so much and are so proud of you and Addie!!!

Mary Lee,
Hello! Your mom shared your blog address with Dad and he passed it on to me.

Just wanted you to know that we are praying for Ryan. We have told Emily (7) and Mary (5) about him and we pray together for him at bedtime.

We are trusting God while hoping and praying for the very best for your family.

Ryan & family:

I'm a friend of your Grandma Jackie's in Indiana. We continue to pray for your treatments to go well.

Ryan, I know you love spending time with your Grandma Jackie because she is one of the funniest friends I have. Bet she keeps you busy laughing. I really miss her since she has moved to Tennessee, but I'm trusting you will look after her on the days you get to spend together!!
