No News Today

We didn't hear anything from the spinal tap today ... another day of waiting. I admit I was a bundle of fear and nerves over the weekend. Then this morning I had a sense of calm that you know can only come from Him. I talked with some friends who were anxiously waiting and I realized that He was allowing them to carry my burden .... He does that for us. And, thankfully, I know that many of you are asking to do that for us ..... what a precious gift.
Ryan did really well with the spinal tap --- he is such a brave boy! His biggest concern in going to the appt. was if they were going to have a bed and if they were going to make him stay in it for a really long time like the last time he went to the doctor. That's the perspective of a 4 y.o. --- he isn't concerned that he had major brain surgery, but that he was stuck in the bed for so long! :) He also wanted to ask the doctor when he might could go to Chuck E. Cheese again. It ended up being a good day for him as he was informed that he was free to go as long as he just played the games and didn't do the slide, etc. Of course, we took him right after we finished the appt. and we all had a really good time. It was good to do something a little bit normal.
Overall, his energy is improving ... he is back to wrestling with his Daddy. We still need your prayers for his facial muscles and his eyes. He is still not smiling, blinking a little bit, his left eye is becoming more stable but his right eye still turns inward. He can't close his eyes all of the way so they become very dry and irritated -- they seem to really bother him. He is pretty restless at night and wakes often --- we think this may be because of his eyes but not sure. Please pray that all of this will be restored .... we miss that sweet smile and want him to be more comfortable. He is very aware that something isn't right and hides behind us when we are around people ... it is sad for us.
I will let you know as soon as we here anything .... your prayers truly are carrying us!

Psalm 5:3 "In the morning O lord, you hear my voice: in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expecation."

Aren't they 2 of the cutest childen you have ever seen! What a gift it is to be a Grandmother. I am Grammy to these 2 and it is a joy. Thank you for your prayers for our family and Ryan. Mary Lee, Rob, Addie and Ryan, I love you but the most wonderful peace I have is knowing that God loves you more than I do and He is walking with you every step of this journey.

I am praying for Ryan and your whole family. I could easily tell how committed Rob was to his family from talking with him about his wife and kids during the case we had together. I believe that God and each other will get your family through this.

I am so glad to hear the good news from today. I just returned from maternity leave from having my own little boy and my heart and prayers are so much with your family right now. My family is thinking of you and will keep you in our thoughts. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask. Sarah Davis

St. Jude, who is granted the power to intercede on behalf of those in great despair, I implore you to assist the Carrigan's in this great time of need that they may receive the consolation and succor of Christ, and particularly for Ryan that he may recover from his illness and be blessed with good health and guided in the path of Christ's love and comfort.

Just a message to let your family know I continue to pray for Ryan and your whole family. Psalm 112 speaks encouragement when you get bad news, I know that God is at work and He will bring glory to himself through your family. Even some times seem dark, Joy comes in the morning!
God Bless Your family!

Hey Ryan,
Be strong Buddy. The doctors and nurses at Vanderbilt are so wonderful. They truly are your friends and they only want to help you. I know how scary this whole thing can be, but Jesus and all the Angels are there with you plus Mom and Dad. I will be praying for you. Love, Sheryl

Dear Mom and Dad,
Take one day at a time and seek God's guidance. Once you have done that then don't worry about whether you have made the right decision or not. He will guide you if you ask Him. I spent a lot of days and nights at Vanderbilt Childrens' Hospital between March 2003 and February 2006. They are wonderful people and so kind. I will be praying for you. I go to Woodbine Methodist Church where Bro. James Cole is the pastor and we are all praying for you. God Bless you all. Hang in there.
